The Iranian and Chinese navies have kicked off their military exercises in the Persian Gulf, the Islamic Republic News Agency reported this morning.

These military exercises come just days after the Chinese Navy entered the Bandar ‘Abbas Port near the Hormuz Strait in the Persian Gulf waters.

Commander of the First Naval Base Rear Admiral Amir Hossein Azad in a joint press conference with commander of the visiting Chinese fleet-150 in Bandar Abbas on Thursday evening said that the maneuver will be held in the eastern waters of the Hormuz Strait, north of the Indian Ocean.
